Photography Classes
Tucson photographers Peggy Steffens, Bill Walther and Ron Shannon offer a variety of photography classes using the iPhone and iPad for capturing and editing images.
The introductory classes will teach you the basics of composition, technical aspects of taking the photograph and inspire you to be creative with a variety of apps. Each class will provide a safe learning environment from knowledgeable educators who want you to succeed.
Intermediate and advanced classes will open your eyes and heart to take your photography to the next level and provide field experiences.

Shooting in Pro Mode and Photo Editing with Hipstamatic
Hipstamatic is a powerful iPhone camera app that allows you to shoot incredible photos that have a retro or vintage look. The app comes with an excellent selection of different film styles, lenses and flash effects that you can easily apply to change an ordinary snapshot into an interesting and artistic photograph. The editing tools on the app give you the tools you need to make your post processing easy.
Peggy Steffens, Ron Shannon, and Bill Walther will lead you through step-by-step instructions and provide you time to practice what you have just learned. They will help you discover how to use pre-editing and post editing techniques with the Hipstamatic app. You will use the artistic filters and the many editing tools in the Hipstamatic app to help you take your photography to a higher level.

Learn to critique your photos:
Your photography will improve when you are able to effectively critique your own photographs. We will share a simple set of questions to help you begin to evaluate your work.
Learn about accessories:
There are a myriad of accessories available to the iPhoneographer. We will have a brief discussion & demonstration of external optical lenses for the iPhone to include telephoto, wide-angle, and macro lenses.

Anyone with an Apple iPhone 5 or newer and/or Apple iPad 3 or newer who is eager to maximize the photographic potential of their Apple device. You will need to be running the current IOS of 10.3.2 and you must know your Apple ID and Password.

How much does the course cost?
The cost is $40 for the 3 hour course. Payment can be made by cash or check on September 19th.
What do I need to do before the class begins?
You will need to purchase the Hipstamatic app before you come to class on September 19th. The cost of the app is $2.99. Although not a requirement, you are encouraged to take some pictures and experiment using the app before the class so you have a basic understanding of using the camera.
